Training for these certifications is offered at least twice a year – whether in person or through a Webinar. Descriptions of these certification training & exam preparation courses are below.

Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) Exam Training & Prep Course
This course is designed for ASCS Exam candidates. Eighty percent of candidates who take this course pass the exam. If you or one of your employees is considering taking the ASCS Exam, this class is the best study tool available. The ASCS Training & Prep course was designed to provide a thorough understanding of NADCA’s Standards, OSHA regulations, safety requirements, mechanical cleaning and other issues addressed on the ASCS Exam.

The ASCS Exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions, and is available at testing centers throughout the world. To see where the ASCS Exam is being offered near you, please visit www.nadcatesting.com, click “Register for a Test,” choose the ASCS Exam on the first list and then search by city, state, or country.

The ASCS Exam is also administered during the NADCA Annual Meeting & Exposition and later in the year at the Technical Conference.

The VSMR course also covers environmental engineering controls, testing procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), hygiene, maintenance issues and more. Individuals who complete this course are eligible to take the VSMR exam and become NADCA-certified for mold remediation in HVAC systems.

The VSMR Exam is only available to individuals who already have the ASCS Certification, though the VSMR course can be taken by anyone. Ventilation Maintenance Technician Online Program
The Ventilation Maintenance Technician (VMT) Online Training Program is a new job skill training program for entry-level field technicians. The VMT Course is specifically designed to help new HVAC cleaning technicians develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide the high quality of service for which NADCA members are known. The Ventilation Maintenance Technician Program is delivered online, making it highly convenient for technicians to work at their own pace. By eliminating the need for travel, training is also highly cost effective. Best of all, the content is consistent with NADCA standards and guidelines, ensuring your technicians learn how to do the job right. The course emphasizes the need for reviewing company-specific methods and practices, so consider pairing technicians with a supervisor to maximize the learning experience.

Technical Conference
The NADCA Technical Conference is typically offered during the second half of the year, and is a combination of classroom lecture and hands-on training. The pre-conference for the Technical Conference provides opportunity to become certified as an ASCS, a VSMR or a CVI. This event is targeted to companies that have new or experienced technicians who are eager to learn more about the industry. Classroom lectures cover the basics of HAVC cleaning, and also more advanced topics such as dryer vent cleaning and equipment maintenance. The hands-on training allows technicians to practice the common techniques and practices of our industry, under the guidance of NADCA trainers.
