My ASCS certification will expire soon. What do I do? ASCSs must acquire six (6) Continuing Education Credits (CECs) each year to maintain their certification. For more information about how to apply for ASCS renewal, and a list of qualifying CECs, click here.
How many CECs do I need to renew my ASCS certification? NADCA's certification program certifies individuals, not companies. Certified individuals may use the credential in marketing their own expertise. Certification is not transferable to other individuals.
Do I need to renew my VSMR or CVI certifications? Ventilation System Mold Remediator (VSMR) certification automatically renews when you renew your ASCS certification. Certified Ventilation System Inspector (CVI) renews every three years.
My companys only ASCS left the company. What happens now? According to NADCA Policies & Procedures, NADCA Regular & Supplemental members are required to have at least one full time current ASCS on staff:
i. If a Regular member loses its ASCS, the company must report the loss of this person to NADCA within 30 days of the date the individual left the company.
ii. If a Regular member loses its ASCS, the company must have another representative pass the NADCA certification exam within 60 days of notifying NADCA.
Member companies without a current ASCS on staff will be put on probation and their website listing will be pulled in accordance with the following table.
